As a divorced father of two teenage daughters and dealing with a head-strong ex-wife who is also his best friend, psychotherapist Max already has plenty on his plate. Adding to his challenges are too many peculiar patients and a new dog, but when Sophie, a compulsive gambler with a boyfriend problem, starts showing up late for her appointments, she introduces an unexpected twist that Max is not prepared to handle.
